Modern Racialism

The Federalist recently published an old editorial by Nichole-Hannah Jones, one of the leads behind the 1619 Project, in which she decries the crimes and savagery of the white race against all indigenous peoples across the world. Anyone who has been around academia since the institutionalization of the Black Power movement in the 1970s and 1980s in Africana Studies programs,, is quite familiar with this rhetoric. Jones's editorial, however, is timely: being from her school days at the University of Notre Dame, the editorial is crude, simplistic, and poorly written; and yet the editorial's naive simplicity unmasks an ideology that is all too often papered over with the arcane jargon of Critical Theory, faulty statistical reasoning, and brazen historical narratives.
